    The Chilaw High Court found Jagath Samantha, former chairman of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha, guilty over the assault on the Arachchikattuwa Divisional Secretary. He was sentenced to five and a half years in prison and ordered to pay Rs. 1 million compensation to the Divisional Secretary, with a further 24 months in prison if unpaid.
