CHARGES PENDING

Alleged obstruction, intimidation, and threatening of Fort Police officers on duty during a 22 September 2025 protest in Colombo, after Archchuna reportedly parked his vehicle in a way that obstructed policing outside the Fort Railway Station. Reported as four charges: obstruction of police duty, intimidating a police officer, threatening a police officer, and causing an obstruction by parking a vehicle.

What’s happened

Arrested 29 September 2025 and granted bail the same day on two sureties of Rs. 1,000,000 each. After he failed to appear for a hearing, the Fort Magistrate's Court issued an arrest warrant on 23 December 2025; he was arrested after surrendering to Fort Police and released on the same bail conditions on 25 December 2025. He again failed to appear, and the court issued a further arrest warrant on 24 July 2026. No report was found of that July 2026 warrant being executed or recalled - its status should be treated as unconfirmed, not assumed resolved.
