Convicted Sri Lankan Politicians
These are Sri Lankan politicians who have been convicted in a criminal case and whose conviction currently stands - meaning it has not been overturned on appeal, and the politician has not been acquitted, pardoned or had the case dismissed. A conviction here does not necessarily mean the politician is currently in prison: some are on bail pending sentencing or appeal, some received a suspended sentence, and some have already completed their sentence. Nadu tracks each of those distinctions separately - see an individual profile for their specific custody status. This list moves as appeals are decided and new convictions are recorded.
